Het was na het optreden slechts een kwestie van tijd voordat de clip op YouTube zou verschijnen. Zeker omdat Lessig aangaf dat hij het goed zou vinden als mensen het interview zouden remixen en Colbert erg opzichtig bezwaar maakte.
Ik vind de kwaliteit van de remixes nog niet echt zo vreselijk hoog. Maar je kunt hier en hier twee versies bekijken en hier kun je er een heleboel beluisteren.

“It’s the equivalent of the old Analog Hole.
How many of you gave out business cards some time in the last 24 hours? And it’s OK with you if the person who got it puts it up on the web with all your contact information, that’s OK?
What technology prevented that from happening? Where is the dynamic privacy implementation around the business card.”

Facebook guy (Dave Morin) responds:

“It’s a fair point, it’s very hard to enforce social contracts.”

Twee bedenkingen bij het beluisteren:

• Of er een grote Facebook-kraak komt valt niet te voorspellen, maar we kunnen ons inderdaad verwachten aan een vloed van nieuwsberichten over problemen met online identiteit, reputatieschade, privacy enz…
• Over de scepsis rond virtuele goederen: veel van onze koopkracht vandaag gaat al naar “virtuele goederen”: alsof de merknaam op onze kleren niet in hoge mate “virtueel” is (i.e. de waarde ervan bestaat enkel tussen de oren)
